A self-fertile and dependable apricot variety, perfectly suited to the UK climate, ‘Golden Glow’ was discovered as a chance seedling in the Malvern Hills, Worcestershire in 1985, and has proven to be a hardy and robust cultivar, thriving as a free-standing tree in UK conditions. This apricot exhibits commendable resistance to bacterial canker, making it an excellent option for damp regions. Expect medium-sized, intensely flavoured golden fruits in August, showcasing sweet and juicy flesh.
When planting incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole and stake firmly. Protect the blossom from frost, and prune in summer to reduce the risk of disease.
