A standout apricot for UK growers. Its large, high-quality, freestone fruits boast a vibrant red blush over orange flesh, promising an excellent, flavourful reward from mid July. Beyond its fruitful attributes, ‘Robada’ shines as one of the best apricots for spring blossom (pollination group 3). The blooms are distinguished by slightly larger, bright white petals delicately veined with a hint of pink. Developed in California, ‘Robada’ has proven itself as one of the more dependable varieties for the UK climate.
Plant as soon as conditions allow in soil that is not waterlogged or frozen. When planting incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole and stake firmly. Protect the blossom from frost, and prune in summer to reduce the risk of silver leaf and bacterial canker.
